The Family Business
Early in October 1998 former IBM executive Tim Shannon approached Dale and Ned Jarrett with a unique business venture. Create an authentic racing adventure where the public could enjoy hands on the sport the Jarrett family has loved for generations. It wasn't long before they formed an investment group made up of Dale and Ned, Green bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre, and fellow NASCAR driver Joe Nemechek.

By November the group formally incorporated and hosted their first racing school program on July 4, 1999 in Rockingham, NC. The idea of a truly authentic racing adventure was met with immediate enthusiasm, and the company started trading publicly in June of 2000. Since opening, The Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure has focused on client interaction and Tim Shannon on track Tim Shannon and his staff make sure you have the adventure to remember.safety successfully hosting over 30,000

Tim Shannon and his staff make sure you have the adventure to remember.

The company continues to grow, bringing the "thrill ride" of a lifetime to a wider audience. In January 2006, The Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure moved into a new primary vehicle care center in Talledega, AL.
ShareholderDG.com's own CEO, Tony Golden, had the opportunity to have a Dale Jarrett racing adventure himself! He is quoted as saying "It was one of the top four most exciting lifetime moments that I will keep with me forever"! The snapshot of his race day is to the left.
A DAY AT THE TRACK!
Your racing adventure starts with a morning call at the event location. Once all guests have arrived, driver orientation begins. A Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure professional racing school instructor covers the hand signals used, how to enter and exit the track, finding your line, passing, drafting and more. By the end of this session, you'll have everything you need to begin a safe, exciting race adventure.

"I have worked with several racing schools over the years and Dale Jarrett's is the best experience we have ever had,"
Keri James, Ford Racing/Campbell & Co.

From there, drivers and riders are asked to board one of the Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure chase vehicles. Once inside, a DJRA instructor will take a few laps around the track to demonstrate the ideal line for each particular track.
After finishing the demonstration laps, it's off to fitting. Each driver is supplied with a DJRA racing school jumpsuit and a properly sized helmet. Participants are encouraged to dress in comfortable street clothes or casual wear. A properly adjusted Hutchens harness is fitted at this time to provide maximum protection for each DJRA driver and instructor.

"This is an outdoor event and we encourage our guests to dress for the weather. These fantastic tracks are so open that the temperature can change drastically over the course of a day."
Tim Shannon, Director DJRA

Once your car is ready and your gear properly adjusted, it's time to climb into the drivers seat. After a few pit side shots by our on staff photographer (you can purchase the shots later in the day), our staff will get you strapped into a vehicle capable of 165 miles per hour.

With everything ready it's time join the race! Using the series of simple hand signals learned during orientation, the instructor guides you out onto the track and works with you on accelerating, braking, moving up and down the track, and finding your fastest line. As your confidence grows, the instructor's guidance will help you refine your time with each lap.
Once the checkered flag waves, it's back into the pits and out of your gear. Stop by our booth to purchase photo prints of your racing adventure.
TRACKS, CARS & INSTRUCTORS!
The Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure takes place at several top NASCAR tracks around the country. With events taking place year round, there's no reason to miss any of the action!

All of the cars used by the Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure are authentic Nextel/Busch series stock cars. Each of our cars were once driven by top NASCAR drivers including Michael Waltrip, Bobby Labonte, and yes, Dale Jarrett himself. New cars are arriving all the time, the latest of which is the new Ford Fusion bodystyle.
Outside of regular maintenance and the addition of a seat for instructors, these cars are rarely modified from the day of their last professional race. All of the cars feature the original roll cages, ButlerBuilt seats and Impact 5 point restraint systems built to the original NASCAR race specifications. We take the extra step of fitting each driver and seat with the Hutchens head restraint. Behind the wheel or riding along, every precaution from driver training to instructor involvement has been taken to ensure that your day at the track is a safe, exciting adventure that you will remember for a lifetime.
"Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure is a gift that thrills and makes the world a better place."
