PSPM Emerging Growth Research Report:

COMPANY OVERVIEW
As the growing global energy crisis continues to loom, there are companies examining and questioning the fundamentals of energy usage in an effort to find new directions in established industries. PureSpectrum, Inc. is one of those companies.

PureSpectrum is an environmentally conscientious high technology firm formed in Savannah, Georgia in 2006 and is at the forefront of the movement to examine the foundations of the lighting industry with the purpose of developing the technological building blocks that will serve as the cornerstones for the evolution of lighting. PureSpectrum’s values are grounded in an awareness of the depletion of the world’s energy resources and the need for fresh perspectives to provide viable solutions. Realizing that a reduction in energy usage in lighting is a critical component to any conservation strategy, PureSpectrum’s mission is to bring to light by bringing to market privately developed technological advancements in electrical engineering that will aid the lighting industry’s efforts to promote energy conservation. PureSpectrum’s executive staff is a blend of diverse business backgrounds and expertise that enables to see both the science and the business of the lighting industry.

PureSpectrum owns the rights to a family of patents, patent applications and provisional patents related to proprietary circuitry designs for ballast-driven lighting applications. The company is perpetually involved in new research and development, stretching boundaries and challenging accepted principles in order to continue identifying the ideas that will ultimately produce the most cost effective solutions for improving the way artificial light is delivered.

Seeing is believing
The fruit’s of PureSpectrum’s market driven development can be seen in the advances made in the rapidly expanding scope of the company’s technology pursuits. PureSpectrum’s patented and patent-pending technology represents a breakthrough in power conversion circuitry that has the potential to accelerate the evolution of fluorescent lighting. Through superior electronics within the ballast design, PureSpectrum Technology enables enhanced functionality in ballast driven lighting applications that have not ever been possible before. The end result these groundbreaking advances will be the creation of the lighting applications that will illuminate our world for decades to come.

The base science for PureSpectrum Technology is patented technology that creates a perfect waveform by significantly minimizing power line distortion and reducing total harmonic distortion. By minimizing phase displacement and reducing harmonic content, electricity is more fluently channeled directly into a device, eliminating unnecessary heat generation and promoting increased efficiency. From that jumping off point, PureSpectrum’s engineering team has broadened the technology’s applicability to include multiple features and benefits across various types of fluorescent lighting applications. Specifically, branches from the original technology have been developed which address energy efficiency in linear fluorescents as well as dimming capability, light quality, color quality and ignition and illumination delays in CFL bulbs. By examining lighting technology from a fresh perspective, PureSpectrum has been able to introduce previously unattainable performance standards for ballast driven lighting applications.

Compact Fluorescent Light Bulb (CFL)
Compact Fluorescent Lighting (CFL) is widely considered the most viable option for consumers who want a light bulb which performs similarly to incandescent bulbs but offers more energy efficiency and longevity. As the global energy crisis has climaxed in recent years, governments in several countries have proposed and passed legislation that bans the continued use of incandescent lighting in favor of CFLs. The prevailing perspective among energy conservationists is that it is only a matter of time before incandescent lighting is phased out throughout the world and CFLs become the norm for consumer applications rather than the exception.
For the most part, CFL bulbs are still powered by ballasts that utilize ancient technology by today’s standards. The prevalent technology found in CFL electronics was patented more than 25 years ago, and there has been very little progress made toward enhancing or improving the performance of the CFL bulb. As a result, consumers who appreciate the appeal of energy efficiency have been forced to suffer the performance limitations that go hand in hand with outdated technology. Until now.
PureSpectrum Technology represents a significant upgrade for the technology without changing the regiments of how CFL bulbs produce artificial light. Some of the hesitation among consumers who have resisted CFLs has revolved around performance issues such as color quality, delayed ignition of the bulbs and the absence of true dimming capability. PureSpectrum Technology’s proprietary circuitry design enables CFLs to look and perform more like an incandescent bulb; through superior electronics, PureSpectrum’s engineering team has been able to purify the light color, eliminate ignition and illumination delays and enable dimming for CFL bulbs.
